MAINTENANCE

Continued from Previous Page

For the boom to lower and lock properly the opening on the rotating lock must be aligned to the opening on the bracket.

If the assembly with the Front Acme Nut moves with a slight tilt up and down then that nut needs adjustment.

If the Pressure Rod moves back and forth at the clamp nut, then that needs adjustment. This movement may be very slight and not immediately obvious, so several boom movements may be necessary.

FRONT ACME NUT ADJUSTMENT

To adjust the Front Acme Nut(1), loosen the 2 set screws(6,7) with a 1/8" hex wrench. Then turn the nut slightly in a counter-clockwise direction until it stops,
DO NOT MAKE IT TIGHT.

Turn the Hand Wheel at the rear of the dolly, with the boom at about a 30° angle. If it is too hard to turn, loosen the nut slightly in a clockwise direction. Once adjusted properly, tighten the 2 set screws.

CLAMP NUT ADJUSTMENT

To adjust the Clamp Nut(5), loosen the screw on the nut(8) with a 7/64" hex wrench, then turn the nut counter-clockwise slightly, making sure the Hand Wheel at the rear still turns easily. Once adjusted, tighten the screw on the nut.
